This stop motion spot was created on spec for Austin College to explore the concept, "Small School, Big Opportunities". We wanted to tell a big story using small sets. I produced this spot over a weekend and did the graphic design, props, backdrops, photography, animation, and sound mix. My friend, Dan Acree, the radio legend, provided voiceover as a favor with less than 24 hours notice.
Effects were achieved using a combination of stop motion animation, green screen, and animation using After Effects. Here you can see the books stacking on a green screen creates a seamless transition.
I visited the school campus and did a real estate photoshoot to gather buildings needed for sets. Photoshop effects were used to get a pencil drawn look.
